Dollar rate changes direction. Trump rejects Iran proposals. Here’s what’s happening with USD/PLN and EUR/USD

Iran presented peace conditions for the Middle East that were met with Donald Trump's disapproval. Foreign media report that the situation between the conflict parties remains tense and the main obstacle to talks is Tehran's uranium enrichment.

      Trump rejects Iran's conditions

Donald Trump stated that Iran's multilateral response to the latest U.S. proposal to end the war in the Middle East is "unacceptable".

"I just reviewed the so-called Iranian representatives' response. I don't like it", he said in a post on Truth Social.

According to The Wall Street Journal, significant divergences still exist between the two sides, keeping the vision of peace in the region distant.

"The latest response does not address the U.S. demand for pre-commitments regarding the fate of Iran's nuclear program and high-enriched uranium stockpiles", the WSJ reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

"Instead, Iran proposes ending the fighting and gradually opening the Strait of Hormuz for commercial traffic as the United States lifts its blockade of Iranian ships and ports," added the report.

WSJ sources say that issues related to Iran's nuclear program will be the subject of peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran within the next 30 days.

"Iran proposes that part of its high-enriched uranium be diluted, and the rest transferred to a third country", the sources added.

"In response to Iran, the mediator, Pakistan, and then Washington, the request included a guarantee that the transferred uranium would be returned if negotiations fail or if the United States withdraws from the agreement later," the report said.

Moreover, Iranian authorities stated they are ready to suspend uranium enrichment for a period shorter than the 20-year moratorium proposed by the United States.

Iran also rejected the proposal for national nuclear infrastructure elimination.

The semi-official Iranian agency Tasnim claims that the Wall Street Journal's reports on Iranian conditions are untrue.

The financial markets situation, due to many inaccuracies regarding U.S.-Iran talks, caused a multi-digit rise in Brent and WTI oil prices.

"One could expect the market to become increasingly tired of the flood of news and constant twists. However, oil prices remain highly sensitive to Iran-related information, underscoring the importance of ongoing supply disruptions in the Persian Gulf," analysts from ING Think said.
