Trump once again changed his mind. Putin arrived in Beijing

Donald Trump threatened to resume attacks on Iran in the coming days, pressuring Tehran to reach an agreement ending the conflict in the Middle East.

“I hope we won’t have to go to war, but we may have to deliver them another powerful blow,” he said on Tuesday in a talk with journalists.

When asked to give a date, the U.S. President said: “Well, I mean two or three days, maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Something at the beginning of next week – a limited time frame.”

The Republican’s words came shortly after the White House announced the cancellation of a planned military strike on Iran, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday.

He said he was “asked” to do so, mainly because of ongoing negotiations.

“In their view, as great leaders and allies, a deal will be reached that will be very acceptable to the United States, as well as to all countries in the Middle East and beyond,” he posted on Truth Social.

New information from the U.S. has sparked discussion about a possible escalation of the conflict between the United States and Iran, which so far refuses to meet Trump’s demands, including abandoning nuclear ambitions.

The U.S. Senate, controlled by Republicans, signaled opposition to continuing the war on Tuesday by holding a procedural vote.

Americans point to rising financial burdens and concerns about an inflation spike, just a few months before the midterm elections.

Meanwhile, shortly after Trump’s visit to China, Vladimir Putin went to Beijing, where he met with Xi Jinping.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia “has high hopes from the visit,” describing the agenda as a step toward strengthening a “privileged and strategic partnership” between the two countries.

Xi also referred to the situation in the Middle East, stating during his meeting with Putin that “the complete end of the war is of utmost importance.”

He also called for further engagement in peace talks aimed at solving the energy market crisis.

As CNBC reminds, the summit scheduled for May 19–20 will be the second meeting of Chinese and Russian leaders in the past year,
