Investors remain cautious – in Asia most indices record small declines, while futures on major European indices stay largely unchanged from yesterday’s close. This week’s focus will be on the decisions of major central banks. The first, the Bank of Japan, decided to keep rates unchanged (as expected) – though the decision was not unanimous.

Rate decisions will also be made today by the National Bank of Hungary, tomorrow by the Federal Reserve, and on Thursday by the ECB and the Bank of England. From other releases we highlight the April leading economic indicator readings by the Polish Institute of Economy and the Conference Board consumer confidence index in the US. On the Warsaw Stock Exchange Santander will change its name to Erste, and Żabka will share results for Q1.

Across the border, quarterly earnings reports will be presented by BP, Barclays, Visa, Coca‑Cola, General Motors, UPS and Starbucks.
