Although Friday saw declines in most Asian and European markets, sentiment in the United States remained relatively positive. Major Wall Street indices ended the week on gains, driven by strong gains in technology stocks. As a result, the market capitalization of the world's largest company – Nvidia – surpassed the 5 trillion dollar mark.
On Monday morning, Brent crude was slightly cheaper, staying above the $100 level. Consequently, markets do not show much optimism – futures on major European indices suggest a neutral opening for the session on the Old Continent, indicating a similar situation in the domestic market.
Today’s macroeconomic calendar lacks major releases, but investors are already slowly preparing for upcoming events that could prove crucial for market sentiment.
In the week beginning today, key central banks (the Federal Reserve, ECB, Bank of Japan) will decide on interest rates, and quarterly results will be released by U.S. tech giants and oil companies.
