S&P 500 gained 0.61%, and Nasdaq 1.76%
The biggest drops were seen in Modivo (-2.13%) and LPP (-2.05%). Negative sentiment also prevailed in the rest of the Old Continent, where the main indices recorded declines of around 0.5–1%. The corrective atmosphere in Europe did not reach across the ocean. On Tuesday, the main U.S. indices ended the session on a clear upside – S&P 500 gained 0.61%, and Nasdaq 1.76%.

The star of the session on Wall Street was Micron, whose shares rose by almost 20% thanks to a significant upward revision of the target price by UBS. As a result, Micron joined the ranks of companies with a market cap exceeding 1 billion USD. Interestingly, the Tuesday gains on Wall Street were not limited to the largest tech companies.
Russell 2000 gained over 17% in 2026
The small‑cap index Russell 2000 reached new record highs, having gained over 17% since the beginning of the year, almost twice the return of the S&P 500 over the same period.
At the time of writing, the KOSPI index is up about 2.5%.
The surge in Micron’s price yesterday added momentum to two key players that currently account for about 40% of the Korean index’s capitalization – Samsung and SK Hynix.
The Nikkei index also holds up solidly, gaining about 0.5%. Futures contracts on key European indices suggest an improvement in sentiment compared to yesterday’s session. This is aided by oil prices falling by almost 2%.
And what about the Middle East?
Today’s focus will remain on further reports from the Middle East – Tuesday’s escalation has so far not turned into a break in the talks. Nevertheless, the prospects for a peace agreement remain unclear. Given the recent market behavior, investors have begun to factor in the possibility of reaching a preliminary agreement by the end of May. A different scenario could sharply worsen market sentiment at the beginning of June.
