The biggest contributors to the index's rise were Cyfrowy Polsat, whose shares gained 6.06%, Asbis, which ended the day up 7.36%, and Synektik shares, which gained 3.55%. Investor activity remained limited due to the Independence Day holiday in the US and the absence of trading on those markets. The main European markets also saw gains. The German DAX rose 0.78% on Friday, reaching a historically high closing level. The French CAC40 rose 0.39%, and the British FTSE250 gained 0.52%. Friday's macroeconomic calendar also included releases from France and Italy. In France, industrial production fell 0.1% in May, and the index was 46.8 points in June. In Italy, the services PMI rose to 50.2 points, while retail sales increased 0.2% in May on a month‑on‑month basis. The most important driver for global markets remained the US labor market data released the day before, showing that only 57,000 new non‑farm jobs were added in the US in June.

Monday will start with the release of German industrial orders for May. The market expects a rebound after a weaker previous month. Before noon we will see the July Sentix index depicting investor sentiment in the euro zone. Then data on producer price inflation (PPI) and retail sales for May will be released, showing whether price pressure in the manufacturing sector remains. In the afternoon, market attention will shift to the US, where PMI and ISM indices for services will be published. In the evening, markets will watch the speech by Philip R. Lane of the European Central Bank for guidance on the future path of interest rates.
