Ordinary General Meeting KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., which took place on June 9, brought key decisions for both the company’s future and the wallets of many Poles.
Mining jackpot, or billion‑level profits on the table
The table presented the 2025 financial results, which are impressive. The Lubin giant achieved a net profit of exactly 1 946 432 407,72 PLN.
The company proved that the mining industry can still generate margins worthy of top tech firms.
The board presented a clear plan for dividing this pie. The amount of 300 mln PLN will go directly to shareholders’ accounts in the form of dividend. This translates into a payout of 1,50 PLN per share.
The remaining part of last year’s earnings will fund the company’s reserve capital, providing a financial safety cushion for the next quarters and a fund for ambitious investments. Some will also go directly to KGHM employees.
Decisions for shareholders are one thing, but the real reason for joy is mainly the crew working in mines and smelters.
Union representatives from OZ NSZZ “Solidarity” O/ZG “Polkowice-Sieroszowice” officially confirmed that the company’s financial report has been approved, opening the way to payroll procedures.
The most important information for all employees is an additional annual reward for 2025. Money will be paid on June 22, 2026.
The scale of this bonus is impressive and may even arouse envy in other sectors of the economy. Union representatives disclosed that the estimated portion of the payout is 11,5% of the calculation base.
In practice this means employees will receive an amount roughly equal to 180% of their standard monthly salary. Such a motivational injection will certainly translate into crew loyalty and company operational stability.
