CD Projekt shares unexpectedly lost value in conditions that "on paper" are at least good for the Polish champion.
CD Projekt’s price falls despite good news
"Thursday trading on the Warsaw market ended with gains in the main averages. WIG20 gained 0,52% with a turnover close to PLN 1.97 billion, while the broad market index WIG rose by 0,33% with a turnover slightly below PLN 2.35 billion," reported Adam Stańczak, analyst and commentator at DM BOŚ.
Although on Wednesday CD Projekt investors could enjoy the effects of general euphoria, on Thursday a correction arrived that continues to this day.
All of this happens at an ideal time for bulls. The company recently boasted of excellent financial results. Revenue from CD Projekt sales rose in 2025 by 9% to 867 million PLN.
"The main driver of revenue remained the high sales of the game Cyberpunk 2077 together with the add‑on Free‑Fire, as well as the continued sales of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," was stated in the company’s official announcement.
As if that were not enough, the company has upcoming game releases that are almost "destined for success".
CD PROJEKT RED, the studio responsible for the company’s games, announced the release of a free update of "Cyberpunk 2077" for PlayStation 5.
"PS5 Pro owners can download a free update for Cyberpunk 2077 that fully exploits the console’s capabilities, offering optimised performance, enhanced visual presentation thanks to improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), advanced ray tracing and more. The update provides even better exploration experiences in the dark future city of Night City," we read in the official statement.
The document shows that the update contains as many as three new graphics modes: "Performance", which was created for players who value smooth, dynamic gameplay, "Ray Tracing Pro", offering a "full range of available upgrades related to this technology", and finally "Ray Tracing" – something for players "seeking a compromise between image quality and performance".
Recall that since July "Cyberpunk 2077" has been available as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions.
So if it’s so good, why are shares losing value? It is probably a normal correction, as fundamentally the company remains strong and has very optimistic prospects, including upcoming releases of new hits.
Financial results also highlighted the very good condition of the brand.
