CPI Drop In Spain And More Speeches Of Banks Representatives

Thursday is another day this week where most of the events are the speeches of bank representatives. In addition, there are numerous reports from both the European continent and North America.
The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) Business Confidence report was released at 2:00 CET. The current business conditions in New Zealand are well below 50%, which means the mood is pessmistic. The current reading was -36.7% and was higher than the previous reading (-47.8%). Business Confidence has been below zero for a long time, but has recently started rising again.

Spain at 9:00 CET released data on inflation (CPI) and Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices.
Spain's CPI fell from 0.3% to -0.6%. Monthly readings the change in the price of goods and services from the perspective of the consumer in Spain were quite varied. The negative and high, very positive values ​​of the indicator did not maintain a longer, uniform trend.
YoY's CPI also fell from 10.5% to 9.0%. CPI YoY hit the level below 10% for the first time in July.

Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, is the same as CPI, but with a joint basket of products for all Eurozone member countries. And likewise, it fell from 10.5% to 9.3%
There will be many speeches today.
The first was at 9:00 CET. Fabio Panetta, member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, spoke. The next speech also belongs to the European Central Bank, and the speaker will be Luis De Guindos, Vice-President of the European Central Bank. The floor will be spoken at 10:00 CET. Fifteen minutes after that, Frank Elderson, member of the Executive Board and Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank will take the floor. Luis De Guindos, Vice-President of the European Central Bank, will once again speak at 11:30 CET. At 12:45 CET there will be a speech by Member of the Supervisory Board (ECB representative) Elizabeth McCaul. Not much depends on their comments, as the central bank's strategy is clear and understandable to everyone, especially after yesterday the ECB president Christine Lagarde reaffirmed her hawkish attitude to future policy.
At 13:30 CET the comment will come from the UK. The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Member Ramsden will be speaking. I will be speaking again at 15:00 CET from The Governor of the Reserve Bank, Adrian Orr.
Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) voting members will also take the floor today. James Bullard will be the first to speak at 15:30 CET and Loretta J. Mester will be speaking at 19:00 CET.
At 19:00 CET also the last ECB representative, Philip R. Lane, will take the floor.
Germany, as well as Spain, will publish today the Consumer Price Index (CPI) MoM data at 14:00 CET. Experts expect it to rise to 1.3% from 0.3%.
The US will release its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) report today at 14:30 CET. Canada will also publish its GDP report at the same time. Expectations for the level of the GDP indicator were deliberate in my Saturday article.
The weekly report on the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time during the past week will appear at 14:30 CET. In the last reading, the figure was lower than expected (218K) and reached the level of 213K. There was an increase of 2K last week and so is the U.S. Initial Jobless Claims can reach 215K.
